Any tips for avoiding filter coffee messing up?

Sometimes the filter I put in my coffee machine folds itself over so the coffee isn’t made properly. Is there actually any way to avoid this? It’s so annoying to have to make coffee again, also a waste of money

Is your coffee machine too fast that there is too much water in the filter that the filter is overflowing and folding itself ?

In that case make the hole where the coffee drip out the filter bigger perhaps ?

If you use the right filter for the machine of course.

Eventually wet the filter before you put it in the machine.

my coffee filters are put in with no, and i mean NO part of it even lightly bent…the filter has to fit perfect in the machine…keeps the filter from folding…also you may not be putting enough coffee in your machine…make enough to fill the pot and it should be good.

You can make instant coffee. That’s what I do because my cheap Mr. Coffee coffeemaker kept getting coffee grounds in my coffee. Instant coffee tastes bad but it’s better than having coffee grounds in the coffee.

My dad always wet the filter before he put it in and that seemed to do the trick. Especially helpful if your coffeemaker brews coffee fast.
