On how to reduce mind wandering.

The mind wanders and then recovers to the baseline. If you meditate you can train this and then improve this. That is my suggestion. meditation.

Okay I’ll try that. Thanks. I finding it increasing difficult to deal with. At peck times of the day it can happen every few minutes.

Everyone’s mind wanders, but being mindful by concentrating on the breath when the mind goes awander trains the mind. It is not wrong that the mind wanders. It is natural to do so. When the thought enters your mind, acknowledge it and if necessary think about it and then return to the breath in meditation.

In social situations, being present and interactive can improve from meditation.

The empty mind is brief and elusive, even in meditation.

Got it…I’ll look into mediation, a couple of times a week and it should help. Thanks for the info.

Massage your scalp. Simple stimulation can help you focus. Remind yourself you have a head on your shoulders.

There can be a life.
There is hope.
And there can be a future.

@zeno, doomsayer! Even a simple life can be enough for everyone. More so in fact!

Thanks. But he right I’m fighting a losing battle with this.

Not matter how positive I try to be. My brain is fried.

If you go into a battle thinking you are going to lose, then the chances are you will.

Honestly, if you change your expectations in life and shift your thinking then a win can be gained.

Introspection and self realisation can come and negative thinking can be a fleeting thought. It can be achieved. Start with meditation.

Life is not about positive thinking!

It is about realising that life can be positve and negative. It is about adjusting your thinking to accept this. It is what it is, but how i think about it and act toward it is everything.

This is life! Not how, outside factors are, but how I act about it. Internal versus external. the external you can do nothing about, and therefore accept, but how you internally respond.

When I’m nervous or my mind is all over the place, I take one thing about my environment that’s small or unimportant, and focus on it. People probably think I’m weird for looking at a ceiling fan like it’s totally interesting, but that works for me.

First time ever I have just let out how angry I am that this has happen to me. We all have background stories. I pretend that I’m coping. I don’t know who I am doing it for.

Yes…this is what I meant by mind wandering. I can’t focus on everyday tasks. it’s not negative thinking it’s just thoughts that get in the way.
