I’m recently unemployed. Works been too much for me and I can’t hack it anymore and it was decided between me and my boss that continuing to work is feseable right now.
I had an appointment with my consultant today and she agreed that I should be off work for a while.
When I was last discharged from hospital, about 4 years ago I was given what I believe was employment support allowance. But after a few months I returned into full time work and ceased the benefit.
But now I’m looking into seeing what benefits I’m entitled to now, I know the the ■■■■■■■ tory government has ■■■■■■ with this whole mental health/disability benefit, but as far as I’m aware I’m entitled to universal credit, which is a dreadful circa £75 a week (they don’t do employment support allowance in my post code, it’s all universal credit now). Also, I hear, I may be entitled to personal independent payments (PIP). I applied for both today, but from reading the horror stories online, it looks unlikely that I’ll be awarded PIP because it seems that just being able to talk for your self at the interview or able to walk into it, they deem you fit for work.
But if I manage to get both of these benefits, coupled with, I believe the 16 hours a week they allow you to work, my life doesn’t seem so horrible in the coming months
Tl;dr English guys, what benefits do you get for having the SZ diagnosis, what would I be entitled too?
