Hi, my first post here. I have an upcoming Work capacity assessment for universal credit, has anyone been through this process and could give me any advice or let me know what happens/what to expect please?
Ive been diagnosed with schizophrenia for many years but this is the first time I
ve applied for any kind of benefit related to it and am a bit nervous and dont know what to expect, I
ve heard it can be very tough going.
Hi Mejnun, when I first applied for benefits my psychiatric nurse filled in the forms for me.
Or you could ask the person at the citizens advice bureau to help you.
Also there are some YouTube videos about what happens at the assessment.
What will help you most is if you have someone living with you, then you can tell them all the things you get help with.
Are you going to claim for PIP as well?
Hi, thanks for your reply, someone already filled in the form and sent it away for me. I was just wondering what the actual assessment meeting is like, how long it takes, what they ask and how long after you send in the form until you have to go. Having it hanging over me is causing me tremendous stress.
