Any audiophiles on here?

So I’m thinking about upgrading my audio equipment.

I currently have a Panasonic bookshelf system that was top of the line about 18 years ago, lol

I’m guessing I would be blown away by much of what is sold in 2019. I’ve found a receiver and speakers start around $200 and go up from there.

Does anyone have any experience in audio? I’m looking for a bluetooth receiver and speakers.

radio on tv is good right now

I’m gaining experience with turntables and such but nothing solid for a complete system setup.

All I know is audio equipment from this company was the thing to have , according to my peers at public school.

What turntables?

Well right now I have a Realistic LAB-395 Direct Drive with a Pyle preamp hooked to powered studio speakers…only M-Audio brand but they work ok. What kind of set up do you have?

2 technics sl1200 mk2’s with a native instrument z2 mixer. I did an internet radio dj show for two and a half years

What do people listen to music through now? Is it all Bluetooth speakers? That Sucks if that’s the case. At what price point do receivers and speakers sound good at?

FYI: I’ve got a Panasonic bookshelf system that’s 18 years old. I’m worried an entry level $150 Yamaha receiver and $75 Polk speakers would be a downgrade.

Any suggestions?

I listen to a lot of Net radio, which makes sense as I’m a hobbyist broadcaster. I usually listen on my Roku through a Denon amp (about 25 years old). I have some Mission bookshelf speakers I really like that I bought twenty years ago connected up to it. It’s enhanced by a 10" Fluance sub.

I don’t really do cassettes or CDs these days. Haven’t done vinyl for decades. Google Play Music is ma thang. I’m mostly happy with high quality digital audio. I do have some tubes in the mix because I love that smooth sound.

I only have two bluetooth speakers I use extensively:

  • AIWA Exos 9
  • JBL Extreme

Satisfied with both.

Tubes ftw man. Thats why I have a tube amp for my guitar and a tube preamp for my speaker cabs

As far as a good blueooth speaker I dont really know. If you want some good studio monitors, you could get a pair of Neumann KHs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004OA84DM/?tag=1010128-20

Theyre pricey but the sound quality is supposed to be absolutely top notch audiophile stuff
