Another huge energy bill

Just under £100 a week for combined kitchen/diner/lounge area + bedroom . Total floor area 42.0 m2

Debit since moving here in August - £895.06. I think folk here are intelligent enough to know what I’d like to say and why. If so, please keep it to yourself.

That is indeed a huge bill :astonished:

Mines been 400 dollars a month

I know the feeling. I’m under a plan though now to pay a certain amount. Maybe you could call them and ask them about it if there is help. Idk where you live but that’s outrageous. I started turning off lights all day and only at night

Well run the ac with Texas weather

Our weather is crazy

Ours sure shot up this year. The provincial government is buddy buddy with the energy companies and lets them have whatever they want in terms of rate increases. Disgusting.

I live in Southwest England. There is help, but it’s nowhere near enough.

Same situation in the UK. Wholesale gas costs are going down, but that’s not reflected in the energy bills we receive. I’m sure an energy company bigwig recently said that astronomical profits now will eventually lead to us needing to pay less.

I was hoping there was help.

They say that solar panels have become efficient enough to be able to heat your house on their own. The initial investment is kind of priciy, but it pays for itself quickly. In time you’ll be putting electricity back on the grid and getting paid for it.

It seems to be mostly of the “thoughts and prayers!” variety.

Your energy bill sounds quite high. I just got my electricity bill, just 20 € for two months which is not too bad.

My energy bill this past month was $480. One of the issues is that the ceilings in my house are 11 ft high and the air vents are in the ceiling so the warm air tends to stay near the ceiling and I freeze my @$$ off down at sofa level.

Ours has gone up to £250 a month. I hear in april it will be going up again. Not happy about it.

I live in a shed house. About 11x 23 feet. I heat with 20lb propane tanks and an electric heater. It costs at least $200 a month to keep it not even very warm. If i wanted it warm it would cost a lot more. It’s about 48 degrees in the morning in my house and 60s in the evening. Im sick of it.

My flat is like that, but that was taken before I moved to this block of flats. During the autumn and winter months it can be quite gloomy looking here. Direct access to the garden would be fine if my mobility was OK, but the unevenness of the ground increases the chance of my falling.
