Animal therapy?

i have read about my diagnosis online, and i saw something about ‘‘animal therapy’’. if any of you have tried this, please tell me.

does it work? and if so, what pet did you use?

It might depend on who the animal is…

Is the animal a “nice person” to you or … horrid…

Naaa, but i love the thought of this type of therapy i think i do anyway.

I got a dog when i was not going out doors.
They said the dog would make me leave apartment cause it needed walks 3 times a day.
I got a gorgeous little puppy.
I miss her so much .
She used to sleep in bed with me by my feet and in the mornings she would come and lay in my arms and we would cuddle.I could feel her little heart beat.
We went for bike rides and she was in basket in front of bike.

I want get another dog in a way or lots of dogs but some dogs might be liers and not nice even if they obedient they still nasty on other level perhaps.

No dog could be same as her.

I want to get a dog that is me (who i am as a dog) and me as a dog because i dont trust anyone but if it was me that would be different.
Ive also wanted to get a male dog but a really loyal , faithful , genuine gorgeous dar ling.

I have a horse.
I was riding her 3 times a week for 1-2 hours in forest and that was some fun and exercise.
I moved her to other place of agistment and now only ride her once week and only for short rides along road mostly.
Someone told me she is a bitch and that she hates me and steals from me lies about me and is up to mischief and i might beleive em but have love for her anyway.

I like the thought of animal therapy.

I think its the type of therapy that i beleive in for me.
I dont like talking therapy where you talk to some person who is usually out to steal from you or put you down do malice psychology on etc (thats just my opinion for me as individual but it works for other people but not for me.

Exercise therapy would be good but they did not want that because gym lied.
dance spiritually attacked.

Thats with them and they are as they are…

I always wanted to live on farm with loads of animals cause i love nature and animals but animals are individuals and who they are etc…

I read a woman writing that she had a trained dog that was trained to support her.
The dog made her feel protected and was there for her.
She said it abled her in her life.

Its good exercise too. Often it is if having a dog anyway.

My pet cats are heartless, I think all cats are. They aren’t like dogs who would approach you when you are feeling wrong, they jist go about their business and basically ignore me. :cat2::cat2:

if i were to get a pet i would certainly get a dog. but i dont know if i can take the responsibility.

My kitten just climbed on my lap and is now purring and pawing my nose. I don’t know where the generalization comes from, but cat’s are adorable :heart_eyes_cat:

I was looking into equestrian psychotherapy awhile back. I haven’t heard anything else with therapy with animals although doesn’t surprise me that there would be.

Good for you u have nice cats. My cats have negative symptoms of affective blunting and they are heartless. Im thinking of selling them for research in an animal model of negative symptoms. They remind me of my parents, totally indifferent to my distress.

My dogs therapist told me that my dog was depressed.
I told him, “Doc, I think you’re barking up the wrong tree. I know he’s had it ruff but I don’t think he’s depressed, I think it is a problem with the roof.”

Get a golden retriever. They’re the best dogs for companionship.

Dogs and other animals help ease symptoms like depression and anxiety in those suffering with a mental illness.
I miss my dog, but a dog is a lot of responsibility.
Dogs take up a lot of your time and money.

In a way I am glad I don’t have that responsibility anymore.
I can barely take care of myself lately, so now I’m comforted to know that there are good people that will take care of him.

In the psych Hospital a pet therapy dog came in to visit us.
It made me really happy.

The school I used to work at had therapy dogs and therapy horses. The kids loved them, and they would be able to concentrate on their work much more easily after visiting. I think therapy pets are a fantastic idea.

My dog always knows when I’m sad, and he tries to get me to play with him to cheer me up. He’s very good at that.

I just got a lab puppy. He is great, makes me feel better when he is giving me kisses or leaning against me. It is a lot of responsibility but it is worth it.

I don’t know where I would be if not for my three labs

I got a bearded dragon and he makes me happy. I don’t think he counts as a therapy animal.

My symptoms have improved since the introduction of our pet kitten back in february this year.

Having a pet gives you purpose. You have to put in effort for something outside of yourself and it gives you something other than yourself to focus on.

My kitty is so loving and affectionate. He is perfect.
