I’m not a fan of comparing disorders, especially mental disorders. With that said, I have seen several websites that rank different mental disorders. For many sites, SZ was ranked as the “Worst Mental Illness” or at the very least near the top. On one site I saw even ranked SZ as the 11th worst illness in the world; both mental and physical.
I was reading about DID…for me that would be the worst one… Talking just theoretically, but still…even with sz or bipolar or depression you are still ‘the one’ experiencing it and you have, however broken, sense of self…and dissociative identity disorder is just…imagine not knowing where is, who is, and when will occur your core self and not having a control over it at all.
Just scary.
Difficult to rank them. A severe case of any mental illness can cause so much disturbance. They are ‘hidden’ illnesses - it is a battle not many can understand
Objectively speaking I think schizophrenia could easily be the worst because it can entirely destroy your contact with reality in worst case scenarios where you can’t function at all and with how everything plays out for me I would end up homeless and die soon after… but I guess that wouldn’t be bad for me really because by then I’m not aware of my actual situation anymore anyway.
I find the split from certainty a strength in a Socratic sense… what madness that the sane claim by thinking they are a master of fate ? I’ve found my soul in question rather than faith
Function according to blackmail of the business world is the mastery of reality. Its slavery to the banks and gunrunners that tell the sensitive they’re not good enough unless fish climb trees for the highest dollar.
I would say that schizophrenia is the worst mental illness. I mean it is very nasty and also stigmatized. I would say depression is worse, but I compare the depression I had to the fiery psychosis, and the depression was bad, but at least I and everyone else knew I was depressed and action was taken. I mean the whole no fun in anything and meds which made me feel stupid but less dark was bad, but I was actually given support by my peers and teachers.
Psychotic? Less than human. Danger, menace to society.
It’s actually a known statistic that bipolar disorder with mixed states is potentially the most dangerous mental illness state to be in for the patient and the people around them. My last reply to this thread I was thinking more of which one makes a person unable to function at all in reality but I might revise my reply in favor of bipolar mixed states now that I think about it.
