Just watched the trailer for it.
Basically the heroine is commited to a mental asylum because she says she’s being stalked by an invisible man. But she actually is.
It’s a horror movie.
So maybe that’s a movie to avoid !

Isn’t this a domestic assault movie? I saw the trailer and it looked like less of a horror movie and more of a… well, it reminds me of this movie called 100 feet with Famke Janssen and Bobby Cannavale. Don’t know if you’ve ever heard of it but this woman’s dead ex is haunting her… Bobby Cannavale plays a cop as he usually does.
I just looked at the trailer for 100 feet. It does indeed seem very similar.
The movie seems cheesy to me.
Thanks for the heads up.
Did you ever see The Entity with Barbara Hershey?
Oh my God, that movie scared the crap out of me!!
Just looked at the trailer for the entity now. It, too, is very similar to the invisible man I think. It does also look very 80s !
Theres one with Amy Adam’s coming out where she has agoraphobia. It’s a different version of the movie ‘The Rear Window,’ in which a shut in witnesses a murder/conspiracy and has to prove it. The new one looks extra triggering due to the agoraphobia and no one believing her. Rear window was a photographer with a broken leg, and there was one called Disturbia with Shia LaBeouf where he was under house arrest.
I love the formula for the movie, but not sure how I feel about the mental illness part. Maybe it will be empowering? I just hope its accurate in depicting agoraphobia and anxiety disorders, but the trailer makes it appear to not be. It’s basically a “you’re crazy so you cant be trusted,” type of plotline.
Just watched the trailer for The Invisible Man and I’m out. Nope. No way. Uh uh.
Can’t do horror movies especially that one.
TW
I just watched the trailer for it too. It looks pretty crazy.
@everhopeful, Yep, The Entity was an 80’s production. The premise of Invisible Man really reminds me of it.
I just viewed the trailer.
Looks pretty good!
The actress is top notch.
Something I’d be interested in.
I like her in The Handmaid’s Tale, though I have yet to finish season 3 finale. I read the spoilers, so I skipped it.
I am disappointed she’s a Scientologist though, but she takes on roles that go against a lot of their beliefs. She’s not a pushy one either, which I respect. She keeps to herself. She’s also in “Us” a horror movie which I have yet to see. It’s about doppelgangers, which is kinda cool to me, and I like Jordan Peele as a director.
I’m looking forward to Spiral: a Saw movie or whatever it’s actual name is, Chris Rock and Samuel L Jackson are in it, I love the Saw movies.
But Invisinle Man I will rent it, I just don’t go see anything on theaters, cause I need subtitles on to understand movies. Not because of hard of hearing completely, but I watch TV with subtitles or closed caption on as well. I see better and read better than understanding fast talking.
Great idea re subtitles. My concentration and attention is crap now so I can’t catch on to the movie and end up picking up pieces. I should do that…might annoy hubby though

I realise everyone’s different but I kind of have the opposite opinion. Having had MH issues I almost always find cinematic portrayal’s of MH issues laughable. They almost always just seem so cookie cutter and lame.
I also don’t really like the whole “trigger” culture. If you’ve been raped, or have witnessed violence - I understand why you don’t want to watch a rape scene or graphic violence. But again for MH issues - I often feel that because I know what it’s actually like - a lot of the drama and emotion that is it is supposed to bring up doesn’t actually work on me. For me its actually easier to watch for that reason. I know what its really like so a fictional portrayal of it is isn’t anywhere near as scary.
This kind of movie would freak me out.
One reason I can’t watch horror is cos it fuels ideas for potential delusions, hallucinations.
My sychosis got inspiration from Centipide the movie in my first psychotic episode … For example
I would never recommend that movie to anyone
