For cognitive and negative symptoms? Anyone?
Haven’t noticed any difference and I’ve probably been taking it for over a year.
Not much of a difference here, either. I find it mainly acts as a booster for my AP, let’s me get more out of a smaller dose. I was on 80mg/day of Geodon and it let me scale back to 10mg/day. The big surprise for me is that it helps with pain from nerve injuries. So much so that I was able to stop using Vicodin to manage pain and am now down to Tylenol and Robaxacet for my back and neck.
Sarcosine is what you want for a cognitive boost, I swear by it and notice when I’ve missed a couple of doses.
I am experiencing exceptional change with Amyloban 3399. In negatives and cognition.
But for me I think it can affect mania and psychosis.
Just wanted to post sometime here as a health PSA for those taking amyloban.
Some members on here have reported blood in their stools and also other reviews on Amazon on lions mane mushroom supplements have posted bad reactions.
Also, 80% of the mushrooms come from China, where they are more or less notorious for food safety issues and lying. (The Chinese communist party, anyway) (Mods, please don’t ban me, this isn’t “political”, just necessary info to discuss food safety) also no personal offense meant to anyone Chinese.
Also, it would be bad to become reliant on amyloban and then be unable to continue to get it due to supply chain issues.
Also, many supplements (even from USA) are unregulated, so who knows what’s in them.
However, with that said, I wish anyone that takes amyloban the best of success and wellness in their journey, I hope they reach full sanity with zero (or low) APs needed, but I just think they should do so fully apprised.
As for me, I’m sticking with APs as seems like every time I mess with supplements something bad happens.
Sorry to bother you, and don’t want to pry into a personal info, but, though they don’t work for negatives, while you’re on lower dosage AP, have some of the side effects of your AP gone down? Or gone away? That you notice? Like, tremors, memory, prolactin related, akathisia?
Thanks for tip on sarcosine. I will try and see if I can obtain some at some point.
Nothing of this sort. No AP side-effects worth mentioning unless I have a very stressful day and have to take my PRN, Haldol. That one lays waste to me. Pretty much renders me useless for 24 hrs. The Geodon doesn’t really bother me at all.
I’m able to work full-time at a job that has a high cognitive load. I’m also able to out-perform the neurotypicals I work with and don’t need accommodations to do so aside from being allowed to work remotely.
Thanks for the additional input, velociraptor.
It’s likely my issues with cognition are less my meds and more my penchant for attempting supplements and such to deal with what my pdoc would call the “nocebo” effect.
Like, if I didn’t even know that Sz and the meds can both cause or worsen “negative” symptoms, would I even be affected at all?
In fact, it’s likely that way in my case cause when one of my pdocs asked about my memory I said it was a little worse but mostly the same on Zyprexa but after he told me about the anticholinergic effects I started noticing much worse “memory symptoms”
I’m happy for your high level of functioning and wish you all the best, @shutterbug .
I can only hope to aspire to your level of functionality.
I took Lion’s Mane and the first day on it my anxiety level was 0. I noticed because normally I have to have my husband in my line of sight while shopping or I freak out. I took 2 of the supplement and an hour later we went shopping. I actually wandered off on my own. First time in 20 years together.
I take the ones from Japan. I mean Lions Mane, not the concentrates.
But it’s stable.
