i want to know your experience with amantadine drug for extrapyramidal side effects due to antipsychotics intake. is it effective? does is exceberate psychosis? what is the side effect?
I have never heard of it before.

I’ve never taken it but it raises dopamine so yeah I wouldn’t trust it for myself

the anticholinergic drugs also rise dopamine so both have the same risk. right? but i chose amantadine because it have little side effect compared to anticholinergic drugs.
They prescribe amantadine for ADHD so it’s something you should ask your doctor. Considering it helps that I wouldn’t try it on myself unless I wanted to guinea pig

I take it. Never had any eps while taking. I think it helps Avolition to an extent. I take 100mg and do not experiences any psychosis. However, when I take 200mg per day, I experienced paranoia.

Just take your side effect meds. I’ve been on side effect meds for 34 years so what doesn’t harm you just make you better.

some side effects could be disabling and affect my functionality for example anticholinergic drugs cause cognition impairment ,blurred vision and dry mouth.so i have to be careful and choose the right drugs.
surely they do worsen my cognition somr whst but else no other side eflects.
