I really can’t tell lately… i’m sleeping like 4-5 hours a night, writing a llot of music, made a LOT of big changes to my life kind of randomly. I’m also a lot more social than normal, to the point where I’m getting social “hangovers” but I keep going anyway because I want to keep talking, talking, talking.
are you sza? or sz? sza could be mania…
I am diagnosed sza bipolar type, but i’m not very good at distinguishing mania from baseline.
that is harder to treat than sz…I had a gf who was bipolar and she struggled deeply with her diagnosis…can’t imagine what its like to be sz too…sorry man.
hm i’m not so sure about it being harder to treat, that could be true, but I do know that people with sza tend to fare better than sz alone.
really?? huh…I would have figured the other way around…I have been stable for almost two decades now…
Yeah that was from an academic paper i read a while back, anecdotal is different sometimes. People are different but in general yes. I think because sza tends to be more episodic than sz.
To me, what you describe sounds like it could very well be mania or hypomania. It definitely would be for me if I was behaving like your saying, considering my baseline.
-Albert.
Are you being inpulsive at all? Or thinking really fast about stuff?
Not super impulsive no but talking a lot and faster yes. Also saying things without thinking which makes me look like an ass at timee
I would say to be careful of your choices and dont do anything stupid/impulsive.
Ive had days where I have lots of social energy (for once) that could be all you are having, or it could be start of mania… Hard to say.
are you agitated at all or are you in an elevated mood?
I feel the same way lately. I think its because everything opened up and Ive been pent up for so long.
Makes for great music tho, youre killing it
I think you may be at the start of a manic episode.
@Moon , are you taking any medication for bi-polar?
I’m taking abilify maintena
Did they increase or decrease your medication before this episode?
Could be mania. Try some centering activities, like meditation. Talk to your pdoc, us bipolar types need a mood stabilizer.
A lot of things happened. They increased my latuda but then I had a traumatic event happen and I checked myself into a hospital and was still psychotic after 2 months and not eating or sleeping. So they switched it to abilify. I’ve been feeling off ever since the traumatic event
