Need some insight on a problem I’m having.
I used to be a hardcore drug addict and now I’m clean but I’ve been having very bad delusions and sometimes auditory hallucinations.
I want to believe they are just delusions but something doesn’t feel right. I feel as though I died and somehow came back. I feel this was because a particular situation happened where I don’t feel I made it out alive.ever since this situation happened I’ve heard voices, felt as though people can hear my thoughts, felt as though my life is a reality show, and felt as though my life is a study and I’m going to be killed by the people I’ve wronged… I tried medication but it didn’t work, the only thing that works to take away these issues is alcohol…
Not sure where to go from here or why I’m even posting this but there has to be a better way than drinking or doing drugs or medication to fix this problem…
Thanks
I’m sorry that you’re going through all this. I Hope it Will be possible for you to find some meds that will help your symptoms. Does therapy help you?
I also get the feeling that the only thing that helps my symptoms is alcohol, but it only works for a short while and afterwards things get worse.
Clozapine does wonders. If you’re hallucinating that much id recommend. Beware of weight gain though.
I came out of drug addiction with similar issues.
The APs seem to deal with it for the most part.
I’d seek treatment if I were you before it becomes too much and you might do something stupid
The Truman complex.
You need meds and need them probably for a long time!!
Which meds have you tried. I tried several meds before I got stable. I still have some symptoms though!
Thanks for the advice , I’m taking olonzopine
I just started it a week ago so I’m not feeling any different. I was told I would start feeling immediate results but nothing yet.
Welcome to the club, sir. You’ve definitely got stuff going on that you’ll want to have checked out by a doctor. Medication may be necessary, but wait to see that the doctor says. If it is schizophrenia, the sooner you get treatment the better your outcome.
Cheers!
