Always check your receipts when buying multiple items - An example

My dad just got back from grocery shopping. They originally charged him 89 dollars for a loaf of bread. He caught it, fortunately. But if they can make an error of this magnitude, imagine what they can get away with slipping in a dollar or 2 on every item.

This is what I fear the most about grocery shopping. Especially when shopping online for delivery. Especially when they never bring you a receipt.

3 weeks ago they overcharged me by $17 but I didn’t catch it till I was home. Since it was involving charging too many items as well as not crediting enough coupons and I had no way to get to the store until the following week, I called the manager and told him of the mistake and when I would be there to get my money back. Luckily the following weekend he remembered and it was no problem getting my money.

Cashiers arent going to slip in a dollar or two on purpose, accidents happen.

I realize that. I’m just saying like stuff that is on sale may not be in their system and the like and you may be overcharged.

If something along the magnitude of a 85 dollar mistake gets made, imagine all the little ones that you dont notice, was my point. Not that cashiers are trying to screw you. I worded it a bit wrong.

That’s a hard error to miss.

When I was first setting up my vending machines I meant to set a bag of chips at 75 cents. And I set it to $75.

Thankfully no one bought those chips. A guy told me about it when I was there and I changed the price. That’s a big refund to give out but I guess if I want to sell walkmans or something from my machines I can do it. But those probably aren’t a thing anymore. I brought my iPod to get fixed and they wouldn’t fix it at the Apple Store. Got replaced by something else that just looks like another cell phone.

The most expensive things I sell are ham and turkey sandwiches for $3.75. I get them at Walmart for $3 so I only make 75 cents on them.

I was at the drive thru at Wendy’s not too long ago. I pulled up to the speaker and no one was ahead of me. I told the woman I had a coupon for a BOGO hamburger. She says OK and seconds later I pull up to the window and hand her a ten dollar bill and the coupon. I got the change and a bag with the hamburgers and drove off to eat at the park. I parked and checked the receipt on a whim and discovered she had charged me for two hamburgers. I was so mad at her but I didn’t want to drive all the way back to get $3.50.

that happens with fast food alot. about a month ago I ordered 3 quarter pounder deluxes, they charged me for them and gave me regular quarter pounders. Fast food is infamous for screwups.

reminds me of a lethal weapon video but too much foul language to post. Lethal weapon 3 I think. one of the characters goes off about how they F you at the drive through.

What bugs me at Wendy’s is when you order chili or a salad or a potato or something and they don’t give you a spoon or a fork. They’ve done it three times to me.
