I went to the grocery store yesterday, picked up the few items (about $30 worth) and then forgot to pay.
I remembered my mask, and I even remembered to get the coffee creamer, but then I scanned the bottle of wine, and of course it called for an attendant (self checkout). I waited a few minutes since she was busy, and she finally came and punched in the code and I was good. So I finished bagging my stuff, put it back in my cart and left.
Today, I check my bank and see the charge still hasn’t come out of my account. Huh, weird. No reason it shouldn’t. Unless… OH CRAP!
Called the store and they said be more careful next time.
It was good of you to call the store and explain the situation. Maybe they have the transaction saved and can have you pay later. But if not, don’t worry. Stores are insured against product loss. Just try your best to remember next time. If you want to ease your guilt you can take the money and use it to pay for someone else’s groceries at the next trip, or else donate it to a food bank.
I was eating alone in a restaurant and forgot to pay. A security guard caught up with me and we went back and I paid for the lunch. He couldn’t understand why I’d walk out when I had the money. I simply forgot.
That’s a great idea! I’m getting my stimulus soon and there’s a fund for migrant workers who aren’t getting assistance during the pandemic. Gonna give them a healthy slice of it.
I accidentally left a restaurant without paying. I only realized it when I got home so I quickly went back and apologized profusely. They were super nice about it.
