Allergic reaction to paliperidone depot

I’ve had an allergic reaction to my depot. This is the 3rs time it’s happened now. It’s red and very swollen.

I saw the doctor today. Initially a few months ago they thought it was an infection but he said it’s looking more like an allergic reaction.

My nurse and psychiatrist has been informed. But I’ve yet to hear back. Do you think I will have to switch medication ?

Just out of interest - Did you have it in the arm or your backside?
Mine always seems more sore when i have it in the arm. The backside seems to hurt less, probably cos theres more fat.

Sorry its not working out for you - i been on it for close to 2 years, and for me its a wonderful drug.

I have no clue about allergies to it - so i cant help im afraid.

I was forced on Invega last January in the state hospital. I took it in the pill form in the mornings, 3 mg for about 8 months . The severe fatigue in the evenings was unbearable. I was so tired I would go to bed at 8:00 pm and wake up at midnight and be awake all night. It literally made me feel a little numb all over. It didn’t help with agitation, it stopped my delusions but it made me feel strange and a bit ret**ded.
I changed pdocs and I’m back on 1.25 mg zyprexa, I had been on Zyprexa for 20 years and I felt so good I didn’t think I needed it anymore, so I stopped taking the Zyprexa for 5 months last year.
I realize now that I definitely need something and Zyprexa works the best.
Nobody could ever tell me why they changed me to Invega, but it sure didn’t agree with me.

If you’re having that reaction to it outwardly just think what it’s doing to your insides. Yes I think you should get a new medicine.

How long till you felt normal stopping the invega?

Its been a month since I stopped Invega, I feel a lot better on the low dose Zyprexa.

They gave me a shot of it and it lasts months… do you feel non "■■■■■■■■ " since it’s out of your system?

I don’t feel too smart but I dont feel retar*** and strange like on the Invega.

In 1993 when I first started having serious problems a pdoc stopped me cold turkey from xanax addiction. They forced me to take haldol injections for 6 months. And said it “triggered SZ”

The haldol did me the same way, but the invega was not nearly as bad as the haldol.

Worst med under the sun !!!

Inevega is a so so med I am taking it at highest dose still have positive symptoms have homocidal thoughts and instructive thoughts on it but mood is good and no adhendonia
