I think the proof of the pudding is that when I lived at my old address without much support I was not doing well, though no one professional came round to my flat to notice. My stepdaughter knew but I only saw her 2-3x a year. It’s been suggested I was self neglecting there. Here I’m doing better , but get a lot of support from my stepfamily who live nearby and someone who comes in twice a week to clean. Without that support I’d have difficulty maintaining an independence that was healthy.
