So I was prescribed Abilify a couple of months back, I took it daily for about 2 months then I stopped taking it because I thought I was getting better and thought maybe I wasn’t schizophrenic and I just had a period of drug-induced psychosis. I still have pills leftover and only took it when needed if I felt off.
My question is if I start taking it again, will it be effective instantly or will it take a while to start working again?
All ap takes a while to be effective again and quit drugs while you can it can damage your brain for good

Welcome to the forum! APs don’t always work right away. You should stay on your meds, because every time you are psychotic, it does damage to your brain. If you want to go off meds, discuss it and your reasons why with your psychiatrist. They can either agree and help you do it under supervision or say no and explain why
