I have been on abilify now for over 2 months.
Does anyone know whether it affects prolactin levels and also whether it has any effects on the heart? I would like to hear of peoples experiences on this medicine.

It affects everyone differently.
But I’ve been on it for 10 years and it hasn’t affected my prolactin or heart health.

Yes, definitely. It’s kept me out of the hospital for the last 10 years.

I’m on 15mg now. 10mg wasn’t enough and 20mg made me feel like a zombie. I got lucky with 15mg.
10mg is the minimum dose for schizophrenia.

It gives me insomnia (I am on 10mg). Did you find 10mg gave you insomnia and does 15mg now allow to sleep ok?

Abilify turned me into a walking “Got Milk?” advertisment. Wasn’t on it long enough to know if it affected heart heatlh. I was born with a trashed heart so it would be hard to tell if a psych drug made it worse or if it just fell apart more on its own.

It didn’t ever give me insomnia.
But having said that, I take a supplement called L-theanine at night and that ensures I get a good night sleep.
I take this version of L-theanine as I found it to be the best.

I take 2 capsules at night.
Our results suggest that L-theanine is effective in ameliorating positive symptoms and sleep quality in schizophrenia.
I suppose everyone is different and how it affects the genes.
I also take sodium valproate which makes the abilify dosage even more potent.

I take abilify.
My prolactin is high.
But I haven’t had it measured for like 3 years as the new gp I’m at don’t do it.
I’m going to bring that up at the new gp.
It’s important to know…
Science journals I’ve read say that high prolactin is sometimes associated with bone thinning.
abilify lowers prolactin. i take it with paliperidone to lower the prolactin that paliperidone increases. for the heart idk. i think it effects the heart less than others ive taken.
