A supplement experiment for supplement fans

I started adding 100mg flush niacin to my regime.

My mood improved dramatically and I felt an increase in energy.

Today I didn’t take my vitamin D (600iu) pill and I noticed no effects (no good mood and no increase in energy)

So. I’m wondering if there’s a synergistic effect between niacin and vitamin D for schizophrenics.

I took another niacin pill and a vitamin D pill about an hour ago and now feel the good effects.

If you like experimenting with supplements then it might be something worth trying.

The max recommended dose of vitamin D is 600iu a day. Combine that with 100mg flush niacin and see what happens.

Please check that there’s no interaction between niacin and your meds on the internet first as niacin can interact with some meds like certain anti depressants.

Everything that boosts dopamine improves negative symptoms and gives energy. But too much causes psychosis. Meds cause negative symptoms by blocking dopamine. When I reduce my ap dose or stop meds I get a big rush of euphoria, energy, motivation, etc

I don’t think niacin or vitamin d increase dopamine.

I take 2000UI vit d and a multivitamin with niacin, no benefits. Try Mucuna Pruriens, it really works. I was able to hangout with friends, bike and walk outside for 2hrs, lift weights etc Its the only thing that got me out of bed.

How much niacin is in your multivitamin? Is it nicotinic acid (flush) or niacinamide (no flush)

This morning took 5 pills, no psychosis. Last time I took 7 pills at night when ap med blood lvl is low and it caused psychotic symptoms. Now I know my limit is 5 pills at a time.

Its the low dopamine caused by ap meds that causes negative symptoms:

Some signs and symptoms of conditions related to a dopamine deficiency include:

  • muscle cramps, spasms, or tremors
  • aches and pains
  • stiffness in the muscles
  • loss of balance
  • constipation
  • difficulty eating and swallowing
  • weight loss or weight gain
  • gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
  • frequent pneumonia
  • trouble sleeping or disturbed sleep
  • low energy
  • an inability to focus
  • moving or speaking more slowly than usual
  • feeling fatigued
  • feeling demotivated
  • feeling inexplicably sad or tearful
  • mood swings
  • feeling hopeless
  • having low self-esteem
  • feeling guilt-ridden
  • feeling anxious
  • suicidal thoughts or thoughts of self-harm
  • low sex drive
  • hallucinations
  • delusions
  • lack of insight or self-awareness

Yes! I know all that. I’m just interested in seeing if others can replicate my experiment.

I think I unmedicated sz might also get negative symptoms. Not sure though

Sorry about hijacking your thread. Everyone is different. For me personally Mucuna Pruriens worked.

Theres niacin in energy drinks. Just adds up in costs, unfortunately.
