Honestly I dont like it. I dont like when people market themselves through the mental illness caricature in a form that is disturbing. Its a disservice to those that have to deal with it.
Yes he had intermittent psychosis due to ‘lyme disease’ but its not a good platform for fame.
Its not like him and a friend make his videos or something, there properly marketed and produced.

Ren is awesome. He has way better songs than this but this was my intro into him too. I like songs that are about mental illness, it helps me feel less alone, and I don’t think he’s trying to make himself scary but relatable. At least to me. I believe he’s diagnosed with bipolar though but I wouldn’t be surprised if sza was there

He was actually mis diagnosed as bipolar. He has lyme disease. And the song is about his distrust of doctors.

I liked the ? Album. The songs are all so short though. I guess its intentional but it annoys me that they are so short. Ive listened to that moonlight song a million times haha.

Well, I learned something valuable from reading about Ren. It says hospitals don’t use those gowns anymore that he’s wearing in the video where you walk around with your ass hanging out.

Yeah, I tend to agree with @LevelJ1 . The whole thing looks fake and markety. The room with cracked walls and chipping paint, the gown that is no longer used. It honestly makes me wonder if he actually needs the wheelchair or its just a prop as well. Seems like a cartoonish caricature of mental illness and not a proper representation to me.
As for his apparent anger at doctors for misdiagnosis, lets face it doctors are just human. You really, seriously can only expect so much from them. Usually they are just guessing when dealing with complex health issues. You can’t treat them as god’s that can diagnose and heal you on a whim.
I feel sorry for him and his struggles but it seems like a person with misdirected anger promoting an outdated and inaccurate representation of MI to me.

I liked it, i thought it was powerful & well done, there are youtube reviews of what psychologists and the like think when they see it and those are interesting view points as well.

There’s certainly some lines about distrusting drs (his subconscious speaking) but the song itself is a “battle with his subconscious” . He even says so at one point in the song. I listen to it a lot, several times a day
Along with his other songs I like.
