A Schizophrenic lady wakes me up at 6 am

Some homeless/mentally ill woman rings my doorbell at 6 am this morning.
She tells my father that her car was stolen and she wanted to use our phone to call the cops.
My father let her in our house and she didn’t know how to dial the phone.
My father called the cops but she didn’t want to stick around.
She was wearing a winter coat and wool cap.
It’s Summer.

The police dispatcher told my father that they spotted her.

My father and I felt bad for her.
She was very passive and kind but seemed “lost”.
Hopefully she will be fine.
Strange occurrence this morning.

I’m glad you were able to assist her even a little. I’m sure she appreciates it.

I don’t think that her car was stolen.
She claims to live down the street from us but I’ve never seen her.
She seemed delusional.
She was very passive and frail.
My father asked her if she wanted water but she refused it.
We felt bad for her.
Maybe she wanted assistance from the cops for some reason.

I should have been more paranoid but I wasn’t really.

When I see someone wearing a coat in the summer heat, I just figure they’re a dope sick heroin/opioid addict. When they get dope sick (withdrawals) they feel very cold, even if it’s warm/hot outside. I wouldn’t have let her in, frankly. I would’ve felt bad for her, but I’m too paranoid to let a stranger into my apartment.

Yeah my father let her in.
He later regretted that.

She was probably not happy or content. Poor thing.

I wonder if the cops drove her to the hospital or maybe shelter?

Regardless of whether she is on drugs or not, I wish her well.

When coming back from grocery shopping yesterday I saw two people walking along wearing quite heavy coats. It was rather hot in the car even with the windows open(aircon not working) and I said to my granddaughter who’d also noticed them “Looks like psychiatric patients”. It wasn’t just the coats but the way they were carrying themselves.
