A question for musicians?

Do you find it hard to practice every day? I didn’t feel like I was working for five years since I resumed my practice and then… It became hard. Do you know what I mean?

It’s hard for me to practice and I don’t work. I’m supposed to be doing hr/day but don’t all the time

What instrument do you play ?

Yeah I find it hard to practice everyday.

Sometimes I just quit music altogether, and I feel more relaxed that way.

Nowadays, I have a lower threshold that I try to do every day even if I don’t want to practice. If I want to practice more, I do it. But I don’t beat myself up about it anymore.

A very important part of music is playing together with people.

Would you be more motivated learning a language just for the sake of it? or if you had plans to talk with people in that language or travel to that country?

Would you learn faster surrounded by native speaking people? Even if you were a beginner?

I don’t play instruments but I used to sing. I would practice at least 10 minutes every day if I were you.

I wish I could sing. We should do a singing thread for learning how to sing. I want to be a singer.

I play guitar and mandolin. I’ve been playing guitar on and off since age 15 and mandolin two years now. I was enrolled in the university music school and had a major relapse of sz and had to quit. Maybe I wasn’t intellectually equipped either I don’t know. Either that or my illness kept me from learning. I look forward to finding people to jam with but I don’t want to do gigs or be in a big band. My music tastes are shifting from rock and roll to jazz but then I don’t play much jazz myself.

I try my best to do an hour of concentrated work on banjo or guitar. I end up sitting there randomly strumming and playing over old tunes. No new learning or focus. Just plodding along really. Its so very helpful for me, and brings a lot of peace and comfort. Most days Im able to do this.

Dont put too much pressure on yourself. Just sit with the instrument, and must fool around with it. See if that helps?

You should sing this song I wrote !!!

This one’s about choosing between optimism and pessimism and finding that all that matters is are experience of life and keeping in mind that other people want a good experience of life

I’ve posted half of it but i will post the full song. Might seem like a 10 year old wrote it tho lol
