A poll: Regarding drugs and supplements

How much reservation do you carry in response to other members experience and recommendations about drugs and supplements?

I voted moderate. My view is people have individual responses to substances. Something that works for another person, there’s a good chance it won’t work for me. Also we are all a little crazy in here which I have to admit biases what’s being said a little. Others probably think the same about me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It depends on the user and whether I can find any good research actually backing the supplement (peer reviewed). There are some users who, the second they mention a supplement, it is crossed off the To Try list for the rest of my life.

No drug or supplement will affect everyone the same way. So skepticism is appropriate. Not that it’s not worth trying something out it’s just that for example sarcosine and lions mane have done nothing for me and they’re two of your best bets when it comes to supplements for schizophrenia.

Edit:
Another example would be fisten. That’s supposedly a great option and it was an absolute disaster for me.

Most of it is snake oil and probably bad for your liver.

I generally trust peoples personal experiences with antipsychotics. I’m also willing to hear anyone out in relation to their antidepressant experience. People have generally less experience with supplements. Supplements are a basically a wildwest. The statement that anything which has proven evidence becomes a medicine is to some degree true.

I trust you and everhopeful, copperkettle and Robert for referencing knowledge and weblinks. I also trust the personal experiences of ozymandias and the admins they are mostly always good guys
