Went into town today to get my meds

While I was there I went into a health food shop to see if I could buy beta alanine. The shop assistant looked at me and said “That’s a sports supplement isn’t it ?!”

It was funny. There I was an overweight old timer looking for a body building supplement. She did looked surprised I have to say.

But they didn’t have it. But I had already ordered some from iherb.com so I’ll just have to wait.

Many people on the forum speak about supplements. I’ve never taken any, other than a vitamin. Is it popular for people with mental illness?

I tried lots of supplements. None helped and some made me worse. My wife made me promise I wouldn’t try anymore. But if you don’t try you don’t know. That’s my theory.

People get desperate at times I guess. But I’m taking 2 that work for me

  1. A 100%rda bcomplex(keeps abilify hunger pangs at bay)
  2. L-theanine which curbs abilify induced anxiety.

There’s research that says L-carnosine helps negative symptoms. And beta alanine converts into L-carnosine. I didn’t have any luck with tolerating straight L-carnosine.

That’s interesting. I have to do some reading.

Solid theory to me

I’m sensitive to meds and this includes supplements.
The only supplements I use are Vitamin D, a multivitamin and EPA Fish Oil.

My psychiatrist prescribed me fish oil the other day. 1 gram. Not sure how much EPA and DHA.

Getting out is overrated in my opinion. I’m seriously considering getting my meds delivered.

@everhopeful if you feel that the meds you take help you that’s good!
If you feel they are good for you you can keep taking them!
I feel that meds will only do me damage, to each his own!
