A myth I no longer believe in

The reason some people refuse mental health medicine is that it stunts their creativity. I really don’t believe this is fact, though psychotic persons can certainly make great art, but they do it while hanging onto the edge. Art is good therapy.

I’ll be completely honest - every AP I’ve taken, and it’s over 10, makes me lose creativity. It’s especially bad when it comes to music which used to be my favorite thing in the world

I have schizo affective disorder bi polar type and Latuda was used as a antipsychotic and mood stabilizer. I was taken off and now I’m not on a mood stabilizer for mania and I feel better and haven’t had manic highs. My pdoc is so overworked she probably forgot to try another mood stabilizer. But then she might have it in her notes I’ve been on all of them. Sometimes I’m on a medicine that really seems to have zero effect in any way!

Just to be safe, call your psychiatrist’s office and mention this in case your pdoc had a bad day and forgot to prescribe you one.
