A lot of free time

I’ll start work just next month. I have a lot of free time until there. I spend most of my time studying, but I feel I can do other things. I can’t do any physical exercises because I’m recovering a bad sciatica (I can’t even walk too much). What do you guys think I can do until my work starts? I had some ideas:

  • studying about the company I’ll work;
  • drawing;
  • studying languages;
  • origami.

I also have this thought that I should always be doing something. Am I being a bit paranoid?

Probably I would study what the company does and what you will do. At least you can try to make a good 1st impression at the beginning.

I wouldn’t go to any language classes, 1 month is really short, yet if you really want to learn new words you can download the “memrise” app and start something new. I have 80 hours of german and it took 3 months to do them, I still can’t speak any german.

Origami is a good choice too, it reminds me of a character on the netflix show “Money Heist”(it’s great by the way). Drawing sounds good too.

You can also see a tv show, there’s plenty that are good and can keep you busy for a month.

Good luck with your job :wink:

I dont think youre being paranoid. Time is precious

Thank you, @Lenny!

I started going to English classes a month ago. English classes are awesome and I can socialize but they are just three times a week.

Yes, time is precious and I want to spend it with productive things.

Personally, I’d spend the time looking into what the job entails (congrats on landing it, btw :)). But darn it, origami’s probably really fun!

And I empathize; I have the same problem of always feeling like one should be doing something. I feel guilty when I relax.
