She responded to my frantic deluge of emails last night asking only if I had started taking the 15 mg of Abilify or not. She was probably wondering because then she would have told me to go down doses so that’s fine. But when I responded saying I had been on the 10 mg still she just never responded despite me saying I had quit taking my medication. I expected an expedient response to that coming up with a new plan of action and I am frustrated she did not do so. I’m also grumpy that despite me having bad side effects for the entire time I’ve been on Abilify she only recommended upping doses and never switching meds. Well now the side effects are intolerable and I’m off medication for my psychosis. I hope she’s happy. >: (
TalK with her face to face. Make sure why she didn’t respond your email.
you shouldn’t really get off medication or blame anyone. Abilify is a great med and I took it for two years. I had some intolerable side effects at first too, maybe for a month then it just went away and I did great. Please don’t stop medication on your own. Just rest, eat well and have patience.
Did you have mouth and hand twitching, hand tremors, stomach problems, low blood pressure problems, and anxiety bad enough to give you mental breakdowns every day?
I was working during the time I started Ability and I had to quit and go home several times, other than psychotic symptoms. I slept for a lot of long hours too.
It makes me the far opposite of sleepy. I am more insane on Abilify than I am off it. But I am glad it works so well for you
ok, I understand. you need to be patient. Meds are like that. Have patience and call your doc, in my humble opinion. It’s better to have sanity with side effects than psychosis. I’m sure your doc wants what’s best for you.
■■■■ abilify it works the opposite way the other meds do
its fishy and if you ask me, its too risky, it either works or backfires pretty hard.
if you really have these side effects on 10mg [quote=“Anna, post:4, topic:49455”]
mouth and hand twitching, hand tremors, stomach problems, low blood pressure problems, and anxiety bad enough to give you mental breakdowns every day

then stop taking that crap.
how long have you been on it?
7 weeks total, 2 of those weeks I’ve been on 10 mg. Doc wants me to move up to 15 because there’s been no improvement in my symptoms really.
Abilify triggered psychotic episodes in me.
It can be a very destabilizing drug.
It’s the partial dopamine agonist action that can make things worse for some.
I am hesitant to try other agonists like Rexulti and Vraylar.
My hands are shaking now and I’m completely calm. This better go away! Aghhh
See if you can get your doctor to prescribe some other drug. Also, email, text messaging and the phone can be traps. You have to accept it when they don’t answer. Put the phone down for the day and you will see how happy you are.
