A person who gave me a Soviet military medal during my mandatory military service in 1991-2 was crazy. He had tried to complete his required days in the military many times, but he was often sent back home and he had been institutionalized several times. During the service he had tried to enter the palace of the President of Finland, but cops had caught him and brought back to the unit with the military police. He was never punished in any way, because he was mentally ill with positive orientations toward the Soviet Union. So the Soviet medal was our joke and nowadays you can buy these in the flea markets for few euros. I thought this to be funny.
