I have had the idea for this book for a long time. Please take the time to read about my idea in the link below, and if you want to help the cause, people will not be disappointed when I have the means to write and publish it. Had to space out the link to get it to show.

Jeff’s Book on Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia and its derivative diseases
(schizoaffective, bipolar disorder, etc.) are all widely misunderstood
and stigmatized by our current society, especially in the United States
of America. Because of these stigmas, actual support for those left to
their own devices suffering from these illnesses is not sufficient in
many parts of the country.
I was in the top 5% of my high school
class, and received a full ride scholarship to the University of West
Florida. I lost these scholarships due to the extent of my hospital
stays (a total of four years). For a school that was supposed to be the
top psychology institution in its class in the nation, the way they
handled this was definitely Jim Crow.
It took doctors a total of
seven years to find the medication that worked for me. My life has been
a series of wild ups and downs, trying to make it in a system that
needs work. My idea for this book has neven been done. Most people do
not remember their consciousness while experiencing the negative
symptoms of the disease, but I do.
Writing this book would be a
first of its kind, and is widely needed for the system to change. I
would examine the state of current treatments, support systems, the way
mental illness is handled in the jail/prison system (for example I was
tased and burnt with control sticks by five officers for fun in a
medical cell before being transported to a hospital because they knew
they could get away with it, valid reports to prove it). I would also
examine better treatments that are on the verge of becoming mainstream
but still need awareness that work better than pharmaceuticals (namely
CBD oil from cannabis).
My problem has always been a game of
supporting myself and paying for my medication costs whilst trying to
get ahead to get back in school, which leaves me no time to write this
book. I want to write it to explain what really goes on in the head of a
suffering schizophrenic while experiencing psychosis, but also to show
that when the right treatment is found they are just as worthy and
normal as anyone else. Please help me make this happen. I want to
begin a catalyst for real change, so that nobody has to go through what I
have over ignorance and lack of support.
