Ugh!!!
I’m back on Depakote and this is what I get as a side effect!
The weigh just keeps piling on!
I don’t know what to do because I can’t function without this drug!

That’s so awful! Can you try only eating 1500 calories per day? Exercise? It might at least help you maintain your current weight if not lose it. I know it’s super hard. I gained 100 pounds trying certain drugs. It’s possible to not gain though if you can exercise and watch calories. I’m not judging you, just telling you what worked for me.
replacing meals with soup helped me. Wishing you luck! hope you can find some solutions
Wave, it sounds like you have no choice but to be on this med.
What’s causing the weight gain? Are you eating more?
What kind of food are you eating? Certainly if you were eating fresh fruits & vegetables, your weight should stay the same or decline.
Try to avoid carbohydrates such as rice, wheat & bread and eat more protein such as eggs & fish.
Thanks @LilyoftheValley @POET @everhopeful and @yinyang
Yeah yesterday I ate a lot!
Depakote increases my appetite!
I’m asking my father to help me restrict my food intake.
I’m desperate
sorry to hear that @Wave
i eat a lot too.. get hungry a lot. But i always eat small so that i don’t eat too much overall the day.
I’m going to consume less carbs.
I’ve been eating way too many high carb foods lately.
The 3 things I’ve found that decrease my appetite are
So you’re already on Metformin, and you’re taking a multivitamin so you can’t take a B-complex as you’ll overdose on folate.
That only leaves drinking more decaffeinated coffee from my list.
Yes thanks @everhopeful
I plan on drinking plenty of decaf coffee!
This is it. I think I will join you.
Good luck @anon25873142!
My secret. Apples. Whenever I’m hungry I eat an Apple. They are tasty, low in calories and filling. Now that I think about it I’m going to eat one (my favorite apples are pink lady).
Yeah good for you!
Thanks @TheFountainPen
enjoy your apple @TheFountainPen =)
You got this @Wave! You can do it!
I hope so @LilyoftheValley
Thanks!
@Wave , I lost 50 lbs. seven years ago by restricting calories using a calorie counting app, and daily exercise. I counted calories for many years.
I’m keeping the weight off through portion control, trying to eat more veggies (cooked), and regular exercise. And, I drink tons of black, unsweetened, decaf coffee.
Wow that’s impressive!
Good for you @SkinnyMe!
Thankyou, @Wave !
