No but I am planning to switch to injection, the medical personnel insist that I start on 400mg before lowering the dosage despite me being stable on 10mg oral for 2+ years

I believe there is a 160 mg injection a 200 mg injection 300 mg and 400. Iā€™m starting Abilify now. Iā€™m getting off invega. Iā€™m starting with 10 mg on top in my invega to see what it does

I took 5mg for around 2 years and it worked for me.

it depends on how mild/severe your illness is, i canā€™t tell, ask the psychiatrist on your PANSS if available

I think thatā€™s pretty narrow minded to use how much drugs you take as a measurement if you are schizophrenic or not.

I have been taking 5mg zyprexa more or less for a long time. When I went to the ER one time they were dumbfounded and said my dose was too low to treat sz. But itā€™s often a matter of sensitivity which means you need less to get the same results. Iā€™m sensitive to a lot of things. Canā€™t drink more than one cup of caffeine either without flipping out.

Thankyou yes I agree it can be a matter of sensitivity.

I know I react similarly easily to over the counter medications.

Likewise I feel side effects easily too!

I have to wait till july for an appointment with the dr. This feels awful. My last care coordinator would get me a visit to the dr fast but the new one doesnt.

I guess in the mean time. Im keep trying to quit cigarettes. Today i last 13 hours between smoking.

The nurse said. If you quit cigarettes, theyā€™ll be more inclined to reduce the dose of the injection

I was taking 5 mg of Ablify for five - six years with a 300 mg Lithium mood stabilizer. Taking Ablify alone is serious because it causes gambling or purchase addictions.

Iā€™m on 18mg of aripiprazole.

It seems to help me. Itā€™s my only anti psychotic med each morning.
My dr said it causes insomnia but I used to sleep day and night on my other meds. Now I have a daytime to enjoy and my insomnia meds put me to sleep peacefully.

Is 18mg a lot? I have a 12mg and a 6mg tablet.

Im on 10 mg pills every morning. Thatā€™s like a 300 mg injection. If you want to think of it that way. The most common injections are 300 mg and 40 mg. So yeah I think you are on a lot.

I will be on solely on Abilify soon as soon as they discontinue my injection of invega. Then I guess they want to put me on the 300 mg injection. I guess my non compliance issue is still an issue.

I would like to be on 250 mg injection. But I have no idea what Abilify is going to be like when the stop invega

This is an explanation why 5mg might not work as an antipsychotic.
