45 days without a smoke but i broke down and had a couple beers yesterday, so new streak for the alcohol, it seems i can’t live without it.
Do not pretend that you haven’t made progress. You’ve broken your streak but you significantly reduced your intake. Just make it a one time lapse instead of a chance to break your efforts.
Great streak! I’ve never known anyone quit anything without some sort of relapse. Abstinence is hard!
My advice would be to tackle one problem at a time. Stick with qutting the cigs because you are doing really well. In 6 months or a year, whenever you feel like you’ve completely gotten over your cigarette addiction move on to alcohol.
I quit drinking, smoking, weed and started eating healthy, but I didn’t do it all at once, it was spread out over like 10 years.
you can do it! 52345234

They have a term in AA for less than an alcoholic but someone who can’t quit drinking on their own even if they wanted . Not encouraging your drinking because it was bad for me. And eventually it may catch up to u. But maybe you’re that. Without naltrexone I’d probably be drinking or in AA but with it I’m fine in this regard it’s great. There was many versions of me until the naltrexone me. Now I’m just me me. But I’ve heard it doesn’t help many like it helps me in regards to psychosis it help.
i have to pour out my alcohol if ive drank more than 3 days in a row. too easy to make it a nightly thing. i think for me its best if i only buy enough for one night so then im not drinking just because i have it
yeah i do the same, i don’ buy more than a 6 pack. and usually give some away to mom and dad so i don’t drink the whole thing. i learned a long time ago, if i have alcohol in the house i will drink it, so usually i don’t buy it, and just wait for mom and dad to give me a glass of wine or 2 once a week.
It’s hard for a lot of people to not drink for the rest of their life.
I kicked the habit because it would get me I. Trouble. If it doesn’t get you in trouble and your honest with your MD I’d say you’re good.
the only difficult thing about quitting cigarettes right now, is watching someone light up in front of me. happened yesterday at the river ferry. that is the only time i want to smoke.
i smoked for 2 years, but i’ve been drinking at least on the weekends for 18 years. i told myself i would only have a drink if i got 5 workouts in during the week, monday through friday, if not then i decided it was wrecking my motivation. so far this week i only got 2 workouts in.
