I just came back from my pdoc appointment and he says that there was a recent study showing that 200-300mg latuda was tolerable and he wanted to put me on 200-220mg latuda, that seems like a lot considering people reporting already having side effects from lower doses… what do you guys think?
Also im taking 30mg abilify at the moment, I don’t know what the equivalent of latuda would be? I think he said around 160-220mg.
The recommended starting dose of LATUDA is 40 mg once daily. Initial dose titration is not required.
LATUDA has been shown to be effective in a dose range of 40 mg per day
to 160 mg per day.
The maximum recommended dose is 160 mg per day.
(But I’m not a doctor. I’d advise getting another opinion.)
I started with 60mg of Latuda each evening. Like I wrote somewhere else, I somehow kept track of my meds over the many years and I tally that I’ve been on 49 psychotropic medications! That’s eleven psychiatrists. Anyways, Latuda is relatively new. They wanted nearly $1,000 a month supply. No way! So I get free samples from my Behavioral Health Department. Now I’m on 120mg and for the first time I’m not suicidal and the voices have calmed down somewhat. They can’t control my voices , the doctors and their medications, even I can’t, but it’s learning how to deal with them that’s the hard part. Their comments and remarks really get to me at times, so I just go with it as best I can. Being around my peers who suffer can be helpful, part of the time. I’m just one of the “1%” ers. Too bad for all of us who hear stuff nobody else hears. Latuda has been the best help yet!
