Back in 80s early 90s I had a C64 followed by an Atari STe.

I remember the C64 games were on cassettes and had long loading times. But the games were enjoyable.

The Atari used disks so games loaded quicker and could be copied onto blank disks by computer wizzkids.

Do any you rember this period of gaming? What systems/games did you have?

I borrowed my brother’s ZX Spectrum until I got an Amiga 500 in 1990. I still have one today. The games though are impossibly hard compared to today’s games. Kids of the 80s and 90s had to have so much more patience!

The Amiga 500 was slightly better than the Atari St.

My neighbour at uni thought so too and swapped his Atari ST for one after he took mine for a spin. I miss that era of computing when there were lots of different competitors. ST did have inbuilt MIDI and early Cubase though.

We had an Apple 2c…it had a 128 kb hard drive! That was a big deal back in 1985. I had the first Fallout game on it and an RPG called Bard’s Tale that really sucked. We also had Zork and other Infocom games that were text based.

My neighbor was a computer programmer and made a lot of money and had a PC way back in the 1970’s. He tried to teach me fortran but I resisted.

The very first calculator. I wouldn’t know how to use it. I rely on my 10 finger count system.
