Can abilify cause sexual dysfunction. What about other antipsychotics

They all can, depending on the person and the dose. I take Geodon, and at higher doses it gave me sexual dysfunction. But my doctor prescribed Buspirone, which can counteract the sexual side effects of certain meds. I don’t need it anymore, now that I’m on a lower dose.

Abilify is usually known for not causing sexual dysfunction. However every brain reacts differently to different antipsychotic medicines.

Yes. Im a girl, Im on Abilify and I experience anorgasmia and an inability to experience pleasure on the meds. Im quite sure it is the meds…

My SSRI causes sexual dysfunction too. :frowning:️

Probably is the meds. I get less horny because of abilify…but that might just be cuz I’m getting older. I wouldn’t call it sexual dysfunction but I used to be able to masturbate more often. Risperdal is especially known for sexual dysfunction. So I’d avoid that med if u switch. Orgasms r important. They switched me off risperdal when I was in the hospital because nothing came out when i orgasmed. Sorry to be gruesome!!!
