Where the zombies in 28 days later really zombies?
I mean they didn’t come back from the dead or anything. Plus they only bit people - they didn’t actually eat them.
They were infected with a ‘rage’ virus, kinda like rabies.

Man that tunnel scene was crazy where they had to fix a flat tire. I would say zombie for sure.

In zombie fan lingo they’re called Rage Zombies. They’ve lost most higher brain function and are single minded which is what makes a zombie.
Original zombies were all alive. They weren’t walking dead until Romero.

Thanks @anon94176359. I wrote about zombies and had an obsession since childhood. Made my parents take me to a zombie movie for my 4th birthday.
