Ive been taking zoloft for about a week now and I was having intense delusions and panic attacks. Is this common. And also today is my first day without it and im seeing a lot of stuff and feeling strange. Is a withdraw symptom common for only a week of the medication
Can you consult your doctor?
I have not taken Zoloft long term. Did it start on Zoloft?
Zoloft can cause anxiety/panic attacks and anxiety can trigger psychosis
Generally it is common for people to get anxiety taking these meds to begin with then it goes away over time
Zoloft caused me to sleepwalk. I lit a gas heater and lie down on my mom. Yeah if its a problem talk to the doc.
Zoloft improved greatly my life
That’s abnormal, as 1% of patients taking this medication can have vivid abnormal dreams or hallucinations (per drugs.com). If it truly is related to the medication, then stopping the medication will usually stop the adverse effect. Otherwise like with any medication, you have to balance the benefits with the risk, which is a discussion best had with your doc.
Edit: I’m not sure what you mean by things. If they are visual hallucinations, they could be related to psychosis. However, if it’s flashes and floaters you need to have an exam by an ophthalmologist to make sure your retina is OK. If it’s occurring in both eyes it may be ocular migraine. Get an eye exam.
