YouTube to clamp down on medical misinformation with fresh policy change

I support taking down dangerous information conning people into making bad health decisions buying snake oil cures.

Some things are fact. We used to have institutions to protect people from harm.

Hopefully this isn’t a slippery slope with censorship, but I think that when it comes to medical misinformation it is usually pretty clear when someone’s offering something like that. Perhaps the post they get taken down will only be those that really deserve to be.

I see it as freedom of speech in forums, discussions, comments sections. People discussing diversity of opinions. Debate all you want.

But Platforms and Media Content creators, influencers are not having conversations but are businesses pushing controversity for an audience susceptible to lies. Most don’t even believe what they are saying but know it makes them money.

They should be regulated just like TV. Because they are basically media company’s.

There’s a few people going against the grain that I find very useful. Antivaxers can shove it though.

Its about time. Theres so many quacks with a “phd” on there putting out pseudoscience for views.

I’m curious how they will detect whats relevant and what isnt
