So many wars are an exercise in futility. I think the only good war was WWII. Maybe the Korean War. We dropped thousands of tons of bombs on Germany and Japan in WWII. In Vietnam we dropped millions of tons of bombs.
So for example if someone attacks you you shouldn’t just hit them right away. You should first say “hey back up”… if they come forward you should secondly arm yourself and show that you are prepared to defend yourself. And if they continue to come attack you, you are justly allowed to attack back.
War is always horrible, but sometimes doing something bad is the most ethically correct choice when you need to prevent something truly awful from happening e.g. The Holocaust.
I hate it. And it’s easy to naively think we’re sending grown people at least, but they’re just babies lured in with the hope of a scholarships, camaraderie and travel. It’s so sad. There’s nothing intelligent to say about a massacre.
It’s the 21st Century. Honestly. We should be exploring space but we have poverty and war. It’s rubbish. We don’t need either but some systems give you that good growth without being political but they really do struggle to maintain the human side of things.
There should be no excuses anymore for our easy things that our technology should be able to fix. That is where the politics comes in and it’s rubbish.
