Who was very quiet person their whole life and never even said much? This sort of thing happened to me.
I’m really quiet myself, especially because I find it awkward to try to start conversations, even with people I know really well.
I’m a quiet person, but when something or someone disturbs me, I say it. That’s really important.
I am very quiet. Even more so after getting schizophrenia and ending up on ODSP. No work no friends, nothing to talk about. I wasn’t in contact with my dad for 8 years after getting schizophrenia. I just recently started being in contact with him and it’s so awkward, I just have nothing to say when I go around him and his wife and she is always harrassing me to volunteer. I just don’t want to be around people.
That’s how it is for me too. My mom tries to get me to volunteer, but I havn’t done it. Havn’t talked to my dad much either. My mom calls, but I usually talk about delusional things and she doesn’t always want to hear that. I don’t talk to my sister much either. I’m often delusional and when I’m not I’m really quiet or am having some kind of thought or personality blockage.
I’m like that. It used to frustrate me terribly, but now it isn’t so bad.
@BrianTex Do you live on your own? If you do you are lucky. I live with my mom and am 36 years old. Most of the time I just want to avoid family but I am in the family home. I hate get togethers. I just feel like the outcast and loser of the family. To work I have to be around people, and the truth is I don’t like people. I never really have positive interactions with people. I prefer just hiding in my room.
Yeah I do live alone. I tend to feel cramped when I lived with others and it gets uncomfortable since I don’t talk much.
I was painfully shy when I was young and still don’t say much around people, but I’m not really like that with people I know, though I don’t know many people.
