The last fortnight or so I’m sure I’ve been experiencing visual hallucinations. That’s not usual for me,in fact I’d never had such hallucinations before, so I’m quite concerned .It’s of bugs, and other animals scurrying past me.Making a drink about 25 minutes I got this sudden glimpse of something black and medium sized scurrying past me, across the work surface where I was making the drink. The other day I thought a rodent was scurrying past me in the living room.
I started hallucinating the last time I stopped my meds. Have you been taking your meds? I still hallucinate occasionally though. But it’s other people mostly and my environment can change. It’s like dreaming awake but through your eyes and not in your mind. I hear the people talking too.
I’m on 3 monthly depot.Next one is due in August.
maybe you need a med change
have you talked to your pdoc
i get spiders and ants on me
i also see the nsa and people and animals that have passed away
i gotta stick with my meds or i lose control
i hope you figure out what is triggering you so they stop
Gosh that sounds horrible @firemonkey
I have had visuals of red dots every where like some one had a scope or laser target on me.
Maybe you need a higher dose of meds
Hope it gets better soon.
Have you started any new meds recently? I was having visual hallucinations from starting a new med sorry i cant remember the name of it
After my head injury, i had visuals for a couple months. My doctor was concerned for possible seizure activity, since people rarely switch to a new type of hallucination.
My EEG was normal, but might be something to ask your doc about.
Are you 100% sure you don’t have a pest problem? Between the two options, having rodents seems more likely than suddenly developing visuals after so long.
I used to have visuals. Huge spiders, mosquitoes,… too big to be real.
Luckily it has been years. Did you change meds recently? If so, it might not be working sufficiently.
It’s not very nice, but I’m not sure it’s bad enough to be described as ‘horrible’.
No new meds since last December/January this year.
I hope you’re able to discuss it with your treatment provider soon @firemonkey. Maybe it’s the stress of them trying to downgrade your care that is causing this? In any case, I’m wishing you the best of luck in overcoming this (or dealing with it if it continues).
I’m on two antipsychotics invega trinza and risperidone. They are doing a pretty good job at keeping my positive symptoms at a comfortable distance from me. The worst things I experience now is just the constant inner dialogue with myself (not audible) that I can’t seem to shake off. I hope you find some relief and soon!
When my wife was alive and well she’d sometimes talk to me, and I wouldn’t respond. It wasn’t out of being rude,or through poor hearing. An EEG was done which revealed nothing untoward. My own experience is one of what I would call,in layperson’s terms, ‘micro seizures’ . It’s noticeable on things like this where I’ll get good results for my age interspersed with 500-600 ms results.
The stress might not be helping, but it was happening before the possible downgrade.
I guess what I was saying was more “this isn’t a typical schizophrenia thing, PLEASE look into possible causes
I agree with you. I’ve told my (s) daughter about it.
I’m more awake now. What she said.
No non schizophrenia cause seems to fit.
Mentions stress. I could be a bit better mental health wise.
