Worst med experiences?

My psychiatrist wants me to take an expensive blood test that will show (apparently) my genetic make up and how different meds will work with me, or which best medicine will be for me.

Still I’d be really interested in taking it. If it says Lexapro or Abilify are good fits for me though it’s obviously bunk haha

i;ve only ever been on risperidone… i have zero motivation and bad dreams…

Saphris

I was on it for 6 months, gained 100+ lbs, and it didn’t even take away the auditory hallucinations at the highest dose, only the visuals.

On Ablify I fainted on the counter and was dizzy afterwards at chipotle. The ambulance came and took me to the hospital. On Geodon I also ended up in the hospital for physical problems. I couldn’t see. I couldn’t swallow. I had an anxiety I have never felt before. Risperdal almost killed me. I got terrible pressure in my head. I felt that I was going to have a stroke. It did an amazing thing. It took away my social phobia. I would go places and did not have anxiety at all. Unfortunately because of the pressure I was only on it for 5 or 6 days. I have been on Zyprexa 20 to 25mg for 11 years with only minor side effects. Weight gain has leveled off.

When I was on Prolixen and cogentin and I was a practicing addict I used to bring my pills with me to crack houses. I had no liquid so I would just put the pills in my mouth and waited until they dissolved. They had the nastiest, bitter, rotten, taste. I don’t recommend this.

Clozapine made me gain 50 lbs in 3 months, I turned into a shuffling zombie, the real life walkind dead, and was suicidal everday. I was dissociating so badly I couldn’t tell you whether I was still hearing voices or not for its effectiveness.

I pretty much had to be taken off Zoloft almost immediately (as in a few days/weeks of taking it rather than waiting it out) because it intensified my depression and suicidal ideation to the point that I was severely depressed everyday and kept telling my parents that I wanted to die. And out of fear things would get too bad, I got the medicine changed.

My friend had that on Zoloft. She blacked out and destroyed a bathroom. Like, she ripped the paper towel dispenser and soap dispenser off the walls and threw them through a bathroom stall. Then her face went blank, and she looked around, and said, ā€œWoah, what happened in here?ā€ To this day she has no memory of actually doing any of it.

Clozapine - I was a drooling zombie!

I think for risperidone, zoloft, trazodone, artane it was a dosage issue that cause problems. I was only awake 4-6hrs a day so little mattered. But I still minor eps issues like small twitches and night sweats.

The worst was when clozaril and venlafaxine were added with above at different times - clozaril eps symptoms skyrocketed
-venlafaxine almost killed me severe chest pain, dizziness, extreme dystonia and dysteria

When my pdoc took me off that back to just the original 4 prescrips I still had severe eps symptoms so I can’t take any new meds and I have to wear a health bracelet from all this -no betablockers, anticholinergics,no ap’s,no ad’s. I am pretty much screwed for treatment now.

Moban and Risperdal, both hell

I couldn’t handle Paxil or Seroquel. Have ruled out all SSRIs. Staying with Wellbutrin for ADs.
