The worst med for me was quetiapine, super drowsy, restless legs and ate everything in my sight. How about you?
Probably Geodone. Then again, I took it right before a plane ride, and I have major agoraphobia.
lithium was the worst med for me… i’m glad i’m not on that anymore.
Invega. Putting geodon in a close second. But invega makes me super delusional.
For me it was a higher dose of clozapine: tachycardia, hypersomnia, drooling and dizziness.
My worst was Haldol, by far. They use Haldol to torture mental patients in Russia.
Olanzapine, and Unfortunately I have been on it for 1,5 ys. I’m tired, depressed and have gained a lot of weight.
When I was prescribed lithium in hospital I became psychotic. I think it was just a coincidence but I’m scared of it now.
I found Aripiprazole quite bad - it made my depression worse and didn’t do much for my psychosis.
Im on haldol and is the best med for me, no side effects
Respiridal… did not work at all…
It sure isn’t that way for me. In Russia they give them massive doses of Haldol. One of the inmates at the hospital was known to say, “How would you feel after five viols of Haldol?” Still, I hate to get even a little bit of that med.
Lurasidone. Had irregular heartbeat on it that didn’t settle down until about 3 days after the last dose.
Abilify. Gave me tons of akathisia.
Seroquel. It nearly killed me. I went bananas on it.
Geodon, I was on the lowest dose for a week and then suddenly my symptoms got so bad and intense I almost fully relapsed. I managed to keep insight though and just stopped taking it. Then things got better. It wasn’t the only AP I was taking.
Clozapine was the worst.bed wetting,sexual problems,zombifying etc. Now i m 350 mg trevicta and 100 mg seroquel.and i m in perfect mood.but i have loose some weight.about 20 kilos
Probably Olanzapine and Haldol have been the worst. I wasn’t psychotic on either of them but the side effects were too much for me.
I was on Olanzapine for 17 years and a very high dose (40mg). Olanzapine caused me to balloon up to 240lbs. It also caused me to develop diabetes. My cholesterol, triglycerides, blood sugar levels and liver enzymes were way to high. Because it made me fat my doctor told me my big gut put me at risk for a heart attack, and the other side effects were putting me at risk for an early death. When I lowered my dose, below 5mg, and then quit I developed withdrawal insomnia that I still suffer from, it’s brutal, I can’t sleep at all, not even 1 minute, without sleeping pills (1.5mg clonazepam)
Haldol game me a terrible case of restless leg syndrome while I was on it. I’d climb into bed and I would immediately have this overwhelming urge to jerk my legs. That would give me a few seconds of relief then I’d have to jerk my legs again, it made trying to go to sleep impossible. It also gave me vertigo/dizziness. I could sit and walk, but whenever I stood still I felt like I was going to fall over, it was a very odd sensation, I couldn’t stand in line for anything, it was really bad. When I quit haldol the RLS went away right away but the vertigo/dizziness stuck around for a few months.
I’m now on Lurasidone and it is a wonder drug. I’ve lost all the weight I’ve gained, I am at my BMI weight, I am pre-diabetic now and my doctor says with luck my diabetes might go away. My blood tests are perfect. It’s been a godsend.
Haldol turned me into a 100 year old man
With parkinsons
Seroquel.
I was on 300mg twice daily.
Robbed me of my sentience,
All I cared about was food.
After quitting cold turkey and going through withdrawals,
I realized I had gained 70lbs.
I lost it, but no thanks to freaking Seroquel.
It scared me off meds altogether.
It would be another four years before I went back on APs.
