This is an interesting point. We all have grandiose delusions, or atleast hopes, in some form or another. As for a cure, i would say one doesnt exist. However to reduce the effects of this delusion i think we all need to remember to be humble. Thinking you’re special isnt the worst thing, after all, theres no one more important than yourself.

Maybe thinking everything is a god of equal rank help this?
Isn’t monotheism the root of it?
I’m a Muslim and our god thinks he’s special and anyone who worship him thinks so but budhist are so too, any religious one is so, even atheists think they are special due to the courage they feel inside to neglect religions,
So I ask again, how can it be cured?

I could be wrong, as i havent gone down this path myself. But perhaps through meditation, at advanced stages when abandonment of the ego occurs, maybe then we see ourselves as no different or better than others. Again though, ive no first hand experience with this.

I think awareness is the root of it, until we are aware of our thoughts, feeling special is inevitable, maybe thinking itself is the cause, cause we can’t think without being aware of it,

We are special. It’s true, not narcissism.
We are all different and special.
But I have grandiose delusions. It’s another thing.
Do you ever have grandiose ideas?
Yes, I even in some point thought I’m god, and still think I’m the savior of humanity, what’s the subject of your delusion?

I believe I am one with God. It’s my religion, not a delusion. I believe I was Ezekiel, Sankaracharya, Bodhidharma etc. I believe music composer Stockhausen opened the way for my arrival as savior of this world. And many other ideas
