Long story short, I never got to legally graduate. I was “homeschooled” and never graduated in the eyes of the state. After finally making some recovery from two decades of psychosis, I’m pursuing my GED and am half way to getting through it! Two tests down, two to go, I’m almost ready to take my third.
Anyone else here working on a GED? It’s so awkward to be doing this at this stage of life.
I graduated college last year at age 61. It’s great to look at that diploma. When I attended college in person I was 30 and there were plenty of people my age or older walking around campus.
You are very thoughtful and articulate for someone who was hurt in such a way by neglect i think you should be proud of yourself for getting through it.
Hey how hard is it to get the GED? I know someone who lives in Africa and that only has an 8th grade education and who wants to get his GED, he then wants to attend college here in the USA.
Late and this doesn’t necessarily apply to me as I graduated with a general diploma as a teenager, but it’s so important to continue your education. You can do this!
You have to have proof of some form of American citizenship if you want to take the GED. After that, you can study for it and even get it online at the official site, GED.com (That site is the ONLY place where you can get it, all others are scams)
I’m personally using the Kaplan GED test book to study. If contains all 4 subjects. I’m half way there and about to take my third test.
It’s just a lot of studying, mostly. Lots of time out into that. I’ve put endless hours into this thing.
