Words you thought were different than they really are

When I was little I used to ask if I could have a bitskit instead of a biscuit, and for years I thought that the opposite of concave was excave instead of convex… My current boyfriend corrected me on that one, I’ve never known him laugh so much!

When my younger brother was about 2 years old, he would pronounce “yellow” as “lellow”. I tried to teach him to say it correctly by drawing out the pronunciation as “ye-llow”. The lesson failed and he pronounced it as “eee-lellow” for the next year or so. :smile:

I thought bathing suit was babysuit when I was young. A fever was a beaver. Mayo was mayno. When I was 12 or something I thought masturbate was mastermate.
