I haven’t heard about it. Is it on Netflix?

I thought it was very accurate and much more realistic than past Hollywood films about schizophrenia.

I really enjoyed it. Pretty quality movie. :+1: :+1:

I just watched the trailer, it looks good. It’s not based on a true story which is surprising. Amazon Prime has it for $5.99 for a single view in HD.

Has anyone read the book?

I’m currently listening to the audiobook… I like it so far. Adam gets really emotional sometimes and I can relate some parts of it

Is it scary or triggering?

What is it about?

It’s not scary… I’m only half way into the novel, but it’s basically a romantic comedy drama with the main character having schizophrenia.

The trailer makes it out like it’s antipsychiatry :astonished: but I’m not sure.

Not sure I have avolition. Might watch it if I get some willpower. Back.

It’s the only story that makes hallucination kind of romantic… I like it

It’s not on Netflix, 5.99 to rent.

Is it about a man with schizophrenia or a woman?

Haven’t seen it but in my gut I don’t have an appetite for it so far. I guess I watched the trailer a month or so back.

I’m having this reaction bc I’m sure it’s mostly positive symptoms being portrayed.

Thought I’d offer a (true!) dissenting opinion, but I welcome being schooled here : ).

There’s a shortage of movies out there on the topic; and we all know it’s interesting/scary.

It’s about a 16year old boy…

I just watched this movie. I am glad an author and Hollywood would try to help with our image having this disease. Unfortunately, I do not think they were very successful. The main message of the film is that love (and honesty) can be helpful, and that the disease is horrible and we need empathy. (There was in fact love by the family and the young woman.) But the movie fails because it makes it seem like messages are taunting us to act out, perhaps in violence. I get more understanding from this community.
What is significant is that there are some people trying to understand us and represent us.

I have Amazon Prime and I’ve decided to watch it with my father.
He seemed to be interested in it.
