Hearing gunshots in my neighborhood is nothing unusual, but these were wayyyy too close, close enough to wake me, sounded like it was right across the street. Heard one set of shots that woke me, then a second set of shots from a different gun seconds later, sounded like someone emptying a clip. My neighbors can kill each other for all I care, as long as they leave me and my pets out of it. That was my concern last night, that a bullet was going to come flying through the window. I bolted upright at first, then when I realized what I was hearing I laid back down to be a little safer.
I so hope I get the job I’m interviewing for in a week; it would pay well, certainly well enough to get me to a better place. Ok, just a little venting there.
My lease is up in August; if I get the hospital job I’m interviewing for, I’ll be out for sure. Maybe I can move to a better area even without that job, but we’ll see.

I don’t like that you wrote that you don’t give a hoot about your neighbors.
I think you should report it to the law enforcement authorities and ask your neighbors if they are all right.
One time I wondered into a bad neighborhood in Jackson, TN. I could hear gunshots not very far away. I was so lost. I don’t know how I found my way out of that neighborhood, but I was glad I did.
where I use to live with the inlaws there was a lot of violence. I remember one night I heard gun fire and then cops came. a neighbor was shot in the face and the in laws truck’s window was shot out too. supposedly the in laws were threatened that if they made the person who shot it pay for the window the in laws would be in some trouble.
another night my brother in law forgot to lock up his SUV and some neighbors got into it and stole his stuff then the same night they went after my mother in law’s car. my brother in law shot his gun into the air and scared the neighbors were all scared.
About nine months ago someone walking down my street shot two teenagers who were driving by in a van. It happened about 50 feet from my house. One kid died at the scene and they took the other kid to the hospital but he died later too.
