I was in my room and I heard about 7 or 8 loud pops outside. I didn’t know if they were firecrackers or gunshots. I put my shoes on and went out front. Some guy out front was talking and he said he saw the whole thing and he said a gray van drove by and shot two other guys who were walking down the street. The victims were laying there and people tried to help them and now the cops and paramedics are here.

No, it isn’t. It freaked me out. I’m going to be more careful now. It’s a weird neighborhood. One minute you have a group of twenty year old college girls walking down the street chatting and laughing without a care in the world or a woman pushing her baby peacefully down the street in a stroller and the next minute you have some wild man losing control and ranting and violently destroying property near him and scaring the people peacefully walking their dogs down the street.

Are you in the downtown San Jose area? Is there a lot of gang activity in your neighborhood?
I’ve gotten 2 incidents of gunshots since I moved to my new apartment but we also get fireworks bc we’re right next to Busch Gardens so we kinda never know. We just moved our bed away from the window. Our neighborhood is weird like that too. One minute it’s peaceful, quiet, friendly people a few tourist. Next it’s loud and partiers. Next it’s old people casually buying groceries and getting help across the street. Next it’s gunshots. It is scary.

That’s awful. I’m sorry you live in a high crime neighborhood! I know what it’s like, and it sucks to be a paranoid in that situation.
One time I came home and the cops were in front, blocking the road. I was on foot. The neighbor across from our house had just shot a shotgun at some dude in a truck because some other dude had hit his gang buddy with a car or something…i don’t know. The cops had guns drawn and were yelling they would shoot if the neighbor dude didn’t get out of his truck. The dude in the truck took his sweet time getting out. That was no joke, cops in my city are serious about following orders asap or else…
That is sad that someone got hurt. Take care of yourself out there! Be leery.
